Grenoble Striker Mamadou Diallo Takes Home Man Of The Match Stand After Hilarious Presentation Gaffe

Mamadou Diallo thought he had to take the full stand and even when told he didn't, he took it anyway.

Grenoble striker Mamadou Diallo has become a viral sensation after he took home the Man of the Match stand last night.

The Senegalese man was on target as Ligue 2 leaders Grenoble ran out 2-0 winners at home to Troyes and he was named the official Man of the Match for his display.

However, it appears he was new to the whole thing as he experienced quite the gaffe in his post-match interview.

The 26-year-old was encouraged to do his own Man of the Match presentation but rather awkwardly went to grab the whole stand instead of just the trophy like he was supposed to.

The hilariously brilliant clip promptly did the rounds on social media but then Diallo went and ran with it anyway.

Grenoble posted a picture of him sat in his car after the win, with the whole Man of the Match award stand hanging out of his boot.

Inadvertently, he's conjured up one of the most incredible Man of the Match award acceptances in recent memory.

One of the very best in history was when Emmanuel Adebayor just 'refused' to do the honours for teammate Christian Eriksen.

Spurs had destroyed Sunderland 5-1 at White Hart Lane back in 2014 and the duo were drafted in for a chat with Sky Sports.

Having scored once and set up two goals, Eriksen was voted the Man of the Match and Adebayor was asked to hand over the trophy.

However, given he had scored two himself, the Togolese forward refused to give it to his teammate in one of the most hilarious post-match interviews ever.

"No, I'm going to keep it for myself!" the former Manchester City striker joked, later gaving the award to the Dane before asking Eriksen to give him more assists.
