Manchester United starlet Mason Greenwood could potentially switch nationalities for the 2022 World Cup qualifiers.

Greenwood has just one England cap to his name having made his international debut against Iceland in August 2020.

The 19-year-old was included in Gareth Southgate's provisional Euro 2020 squad, but the player was forced to withdraw due to injury.

Though his international career could lie away from the Three Lions, with a stunning report claiming he is wanted by another national team.

How does Greenwood qualify for Jamaica considering he has already played a competitive game for England?

Well, FIFA approved a rule change that allows players to switch international allegiances if they have played no more than three competitive matches at senior level prior to them turning 21.

Of course, Greenwood, who is still a teenager, has only played one game for England at senior level, so he is applicable for Jamaica through his parents.

England are blessed with an abundance of attacking options, but Alan Shearer stressed the importance of Greenwood

Speaking before the tournament, he told Goal: "I would personally take Greenwood as well, in case we are wanting and needing a goal, and struggling for that.

"I would have him in, he probably wouldn't start the first couple of games but if you need a goal late on then he would be a great option to throw on.

"Having those extra three [places in the squad] might help someone like Greenwood get into the squad."
