Remember when Andy Gray used to utter the words 'high, wide and not at all handsome'? Well, that exact quote came into my head during Everton's Europa League qualifier against minnows Ružomberok, last night.
Ronald Koeman's side managed to scrape a 1-0 win after Leighton Baines' deflected strike gave the Blues a first-leg advantage ahead of next week's trip to Slovakia, but one moment in particular was a huge talking point on Twitter.
After looking like his former self in a pre-season friendly against Kenyan side Gor Mahia F.C, former Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney managed 90 minutes on his competitive debut for Everton.

It may have been his 100th appearance across all UEFA competitions over his career, but Rooney's wayward strike in the 71st minute at Goodison Park topped off a disappointing performance from the 31-year-old.

As you can imagine, Twitter reacted to Rooney's 'terrible' shot during the Europa League tie:
Rooney will be hoping he can recapture form of old and force a return to the England set-up, but has he got the minerals to produce the goods for Everton this season? Or are his glory days over?
