And that's how you diffuse a situation...

Bafetimbi Gomis was in no mood for violence in Al Hilal's Arab Club championship semi-final penalty shoot-out victory over Al Ahli.

At one point in the game, the former Swansea City striker bundled over goalkeeper as he challenged the Mohammed Al-Owais.

The incensed Saudi Arabian landed awkwardly, kipped up like a prime Shawn Michaels and then went straight after Gomis.

But before the 27-year old could even square up to the Frenchman and get in his face, Gomis gave him a great big hug to calm him down.

Al-Owais didn't know what to do and just sort of stood there looking perplexed for a bit but the affectionate squeeze appeared to do the trick.

The 33-year old may just have to take up a career in therapy once he's hung up his boots. For now though, he's banging in the goals for his club, having netted 29 goals in 33 games.

His best contribution, however, is undoubtedly scaring the absolute living daylights out of a kid with his trademark 'panther walk' celebration in February.

He scored in 2-0 win over Al-Ittihad and as always, he got on his knees and imitated the animal.

The former Lyon man then decided it was a good idea to walk towards the ball boy, who looked like he'd just seen a ghost.

Moments later he ran as fast as he possibly could away from Gomis and well, it produced this priceless moment.

After the final whistle, Gomis went to find the petrified ball boy and gave him his signed shirt from the game.

The kid even posed for Snapchat videos after the full-time whistle, recreating the iconic celebration.
