Manchester United and Arsenal lock horns tomorrow in the Premier League and though it will likely be an appealing contest, it will surely not compare to the old duels Sir Alex Ferguson and Arsene Wenger and their teams used to have.

They had many memorable meetings but when it comes down to iconic moments and goals, only one comes to mind and so we're looking back at a certain goal that was scored in the FA Cup Semi-final replay in 1999.

At Villa Park, the two teams played out a thriller which had absolutely everything. David Beckham opened the scoring with a brilliant curling effort, but diminutive Dutchman Dennis Bergkamp equalised in the second half.

The tie swung massively in United's favour when Roy Keane received his marching orders after picking up two yellow cards, then Phil Neville's clumsy challenge on Ray Parlour handed Arsenal the perfect opportunity to take the lead.

Talisman Dennis Bergkamp stepped up by Peter Schmeichel, who incidentally celebrates his birthday today, made a monumental save to keep United in the game.

Extra time beckoned and the game was settled through a majestic goal from Ryan Giggs, who after picking up an uncharestically errant pass from Patrick Vieira, slalomed past four or five Arsenal defenders before smashing the ball into the roof net. A wild celebration followed, with Giggs allowing the whole world to see his impressive chest of hair as joyous United fans ran on the pitch.

United would go on to win the treble that season in what is widely referred to as the greatest season in the club's history.

Is Giggs' stunning solo goal the greatest strike in a United-Arsenal fixture? Let us know your thoughts in the comments.
