German Footballer Uses Reddit To Announce That He's Gay

A footballer in the third tier of German football has announced via Reddit that he is gay.

Although he remained anonymous on the social media site to announce his sexuality, using the name 'Eckfahne' which means 'corner' in German, the footballer revealed some facts about himself,

These included his age (20) and the fact that earns 9000 euros a month on a professional contract but he did reveal that he was worried about media attention if he was to come out.

As well as announcing his age and wage, the 20-year-old revealed in a Q&A on Reddit that his family don't know about his secret but his best friends are aware of the situation.

He also admitted that his teammates think that he has a girlfriend, with one girl even pretended to be his partner in front of his German third tier teammates

He answers a flurry of questions in the feed, including the fact that he finds Joshua Kimmich, Mats Hummels and Manuel Neuer attractive.
