Gary Neville has picked his overseas Manchester United XI, with Cristiano Ronaldo and Carlos Tevez included in the star-studded side.

The world-class pair were both part of the United side that won the Premier League and Champions League double in 2007/08 before leaving for Real Madrid and Manchester City respectively in the summer of 2009.

However, Neville simply felt he had to put them in when a fan on Twitter asked him to pick a United all-time XI that didn't include any British players.

And though the majority were no-brainers, the former United skipper did make a few thought-provoking selections.

Legendary goalkeeper Peter Schmeichel got in ahead of Edwin van der Sar in between the sticks, with Rafael da Silva, Jaap Stam, Nemanja Vidic and Patrice Evra completing an incredibly strong backline.

In midfield is where it gets a little interesting. Bruno Fernandes earns a spot despite only joining United in January of this year thanks to the monumental transformative effect he's had on the team and he's partnered with Juan Sebastian Veron.

The Argentine midfielder is widely deemed to be a huge failure at United after his £28.1million move from Lazio back in 2001 but Neville clearly rated him enough to slot him in the team.

Ronaldo and Tevez are the wide-men, supporting Eric Cantona and Ruud van Nistelrooy - who would appear to have the makings of a wonderful double-act up top.

Notable omissions brought up in the replies were the likes of Park Ji-Sung, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, Andrei Kanchelskis but it does have the makings of an attacking team filled with match-winners.
