Somehow, Valencia have been unsuccessful in appealing the validity of their u19's match result against Chelsea's youngsters in the UEFA Youth League after having a penalty wrongly disallowed in the shoot-out.
Alberto Gil stepped up to take the first kick in the shoot-out and casually slotted the ball into the bottom corner, hitting a stanchion inside the side netting of the goal. However, despite the whole ball crossing the line, the match officials shockingly decided to declare the spot kick as a miss.

The remaining nine penalties were all tucked away, meaning Chelsea emerged as 5-4 victors, eliminating Valencia even though the 'Los Che' youngsters had all successfully converted their efforts, too.
UEFA, in their infinite wisdom have rejected Valencia's appeal against the result and the La Liga club have been quick to respond to European football's governing body.
"The club regrets the decision taken by the UEFA. We wish to encourage our young players to continue to be motivated and believe in the fair play of football.

"We trust that UEFA will give an appropriate response at the level required by the situation, after it has had the opportunity to analyse our appeal.
"Finally, Valencia wish to thank the sportsmanship of Chelsea for having recognised that the disallowed penalty had gone in."
If Valencia manager Gary Neville thought the original decision to not give the penalty was scandalous, we can only imagine what he'll have to say about UEFA rejecting Valencia's appeal.
