Gary Neville Criticises Romelu Lukaku's Lack Of Celebration Against West Brom

The former United captain makes a good point

He may have given Manchester United the lead during this afternoon's game against West Bromwich Albion at the Hawthorns, but Romelu Lukaku still managed to frustrate Gary Neville with his lack of celebration against the Baggies.

Lukaku headed home his 15th goal of the season to hand United the lead, but then opted for a muted celebration, presumably due to his past allegiance to the Baggies. It was not a decision that went down with former United captain Neville, who was providing commentary on the game for Sky Sports.

"He needs to celebrate, he absolutely does.

"Celebrate with those fans behind the goal, endear yourself to them."

Despite the 15 goals he's scored since arriving from Everton in a £75 million deal over the summer, Lukaku is experiencing a difficult period with some sections of United's supporters after a recent rough patch of form, which culminated with a disastrous performance last week against Manchester City, in which his two defensive errors from set pieces gifted City both their goals.

Since then, Lukaku has responded with goals in back-to-back games with both his opening effort against West Brom today and his match winning effort against Bournemouth in midweek.

But should he have made more of his celebration today, as Neville suggested he should or was he right to remain reserved?
