Gareth Southgate's England have been backed to "dominate" the next World Cup and Euros thanks to the stacked star-studded talent in their squad.

That is according to Arsenal legend Ray Parlour, who insisted that England now have an "excellent chance" to achieve huge success on the international stage.

England have been backed by the likes of Jose Mourinho to reach the final of Euro 2020, as Southgate's men head into their quarter-final clash with Ukraine on Saturday.

Southgate is spoilt for choice with his attacking options, with the likes of Harry Kane, Phil Foden, Jadon Sancho, Jack Grealish and Bukayo Saka all in England's squad.

Now, Parlour has claimed that England's squad is "unbelievable" and the Three Lions could dominate in major international competitions in the years to come.

The 48-year-old former midfielder told talkSPORT: "It's unbelievable. When we're talking about teams and how we're going to pick the team, we ain't even mentioned Foden, we've not mentioned Sancho.

"Well, it's unbelievable the squad, the depth they've got in the squad now, isn't it? England, for years, I think they've got to dominate now.

"I think they've got an excellent chance now and with how young they are these players can really dominate the World Cup, the next Euros, the next World Cup because they're in their prime.

"They're going to be in their prime in those next four [to] five years."

England will face Ukraine at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome after knocking Germany out of Euro 2020 in the last 16.

Southgate's men would face the winner of the Czech Republic vs Denmark in the semi-finals if they defeat Ukraine in their hotly anticipated quarter-final clash.

However, Parlour believes that England must be "very careful" against Ukraine and not underestimate Andriy Shevchenko's men.

"You've got to be careful with Ukraine," he said.

"When you play teams like Ukraine, the expectation is England will be in the semi-final, but you've got to be very careful.

"Who expected Switzerland to beat France? I certainly didn't! I watched them against Italy and they were awful! I thought they were just there for a nice tournament and they would be knocked out, no problem.

"But France were 3-1 and cruising, they took their eye off the ball and all of a sudden -- BANG -- it's 3-2, 3-3 and then Switzerland go through!

"England have got to be very careful."
