Gareth Southgate has been urged to "take the handbrake off" and opt for an attacking England XI at the upcoming European Championships.

The Three Lions have a whole host of exciting options and have a 26-man squad full of versatility and flexibility even with recent injuries to the likes of Trent Alexander-Arnold and Mason Greenwood.

Fans have been sharing their preferred XIs for the tournament and the team selected by former professional footballer and boxer Curtis Woodhouse is one that many are in favour of.

Like many of us, the former Sheffield United man doesn't want England to be defensive-minded this summer like they were in Russia and is advocating a front six comprising of Declan Rice, Jude Bellingham, Mason Mount, Phil Foden, Jack Grealish and Harry Kane.

Woodhouse has Kyle Walker and Luke Shaw, both wouldn't be too opposed if the likes of Kieran Trippier, Ben Chilwell or Reece James got the nod.

However, he described the rest as "non negotiable" and believes with it's "technical ability, pace, energy and experience", this has to be the go-to team.

Although some did raise the point of needing natural width and runners in Jadon Sancho, Raheem Sterling or Marcus Rashford, plenty were onboard with Woodhouse's choices in his replies.

England have been placed in a group with Croatia, Scotland and Czech Republic and have been given a 5.2% chance of going all the way by a supercomputer.

But legendary former Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger feels England are best-placed to challenge 2018 World Cup winners France, who he sees as "super favourites".

He said: 'They are not the favourites, they are the super favourite. Favourite is not big enough, because when you win the World Cup and then you have in your team (N'Golo) Kante, (Paul) Pogba, (Karim) Benzema, (Antoine) Griezmann, (Kingsley) Coman, (Olivier) Giroud, I forget half of them. (Ousmane) Dembele.

"You will have on the bench 11 players who would play basically in any other national team. So you cannot refuse the fact that you are world champion and it's a team which has not peaked.

"The English team is the team who can most threaten France. They have top quality players. They are maybe still a bit young, some of them, but with Mason Mount, (Phil) Foden, (Jack) Grealish, Declan Rice and of course Harry Kane and some experienced players like (Jordan) Henderson, they can compete with France.'
