Real Madrid seem to be giving out new contracts all over the place at the moment. Toni Kroos was handed a mammoth new contract yesterday and now it seems Los Blancos are trying to tie down Gareth Bale to a new deal.

According to Spanish outlet Cadena Ser, Bale is on the brink of signing a new six-year contract that will keep him at the club until 2022.

An official announcement is expected at some point, but the big talking point is that Bale's reported release clause is absolutely outrageous. His new deal will reportedly see a €500 million (£452m) release clause inserted into his contract.

The Welshman joined Real back in 2013 in what was a world record £85.5m fee to prize him away from Tottenham Hotspur. It's fair to say that Bale has become one of Madrid's main men - evidenced by the fact they are believed to have set such a staggering release clause for him.

Cristiano Ronaldo and Pepe are also expected to sign new deals in the coming weeks.

Something tells us he won't be leaving the Bernabeu for a long time.
