Gareth Bale Shouted 'VAMOS!' After Scoring First Goal On Tottenham Return

Gareth Bale notched his first goal for Spurs since returning on loan from Real Madrid.

It was often said that Gareth Bale didn't make an effort to learn to speak or understand Spanish during his time at Real Madrid.

But of course the Welshman passionately shouted "VAMOS" - meaning "LET'S GO!' - when he scored the winner for Spurs last night.

Bale came off the bench to head home Sergio Regulion's cross in the 73th minute, securing a 2-1 win for Jose Mourinho's side at home to Brighton and Hove Albion.

The goal, which came seven years after Bale's last in a Tottenham shirt, moved the North London outfit up to second in the Premier League table.

Even with no supporters to witness it, Bale celebrated wildly and him using a Spanish phrase brought a lot of reaction on social media.



The irony from Bale is quite beautiful and we, like Mourinho, are waiting patiently to see what the Madrid press will have to say about it.

Mourinho also added that Bale is not ready to a start a Premier League game just yet and will be turning out in the Europa League as he bids to gain full fitness.

"I said already for about a week or so he is improving and I said that not just by watching him but just by the data that supports our training process," Mourinho said.

"The good thing is Gareth knows, we share ideas and feelings. He doesn't have 90 minutes of a Premier League match in his legs yet.

"That's it, he will start again on Thursday. Even in a Europa League match where the intensity is different to the Premier League I will not play him for 90 minutes, I will always have this care with him until we feel he's ready.

"But today great personality, great impact, very important goal for us. And after that he joined Harry [Kane] in a very experienced way to play the last 15 minutes of the game, both very clever, very intelligent, technically very good, holding the ball, bringing the ball to zones where they couldn't hurt us.

"Of course, I'm very pleased with him, I'm pleased especially for him because he deserves that."
