We're All Living In One Big Real Life Football Manager Save

We all get to that point in Football Manager when former professional footballers try their hand at becoming a head coach. But in 2018, it feels the footballing landscape has just turned into one big FM save in real-life.
If you're an avid FM player then you could have been fooled into thinking that the game has come to life in recent times.
The likes of Frank Lampard and Steven Gerrard swapped their boots for Chelsea leather after taking over at Derby County and Rangers respectively in the summer and it's been taken up another notch by John Terry serving as Aston Villa's assistant - as well as Thierry Henry taking his first steps into management with AS Monaco, his first club.
Steven Gerrard is Rangers manager.
Frank Lampard is Derby manager.
Thierry Henry is Monaco manager.
John Terry is Aston Villa assistant manager.

I've watched these guys play football and now they are managers:

But these aren't the only cases of player to manager situations that bring back those nostalgic FM feels.
Former Bolton, Newcastle and West Ham player Kevin Nolan was managing Notts County before being dismissed and replaced by Harry Kewell in August, while Joey Barton and Lee Bowyer are both managing in League One.
Steven Gerrard - Rangers
Frank Lampard - Derby
Joey Barton - Fleetwood
Lee Bowyer - Charlton
Harry Kewell - Notts County
John Terry- Aston Villa
Thierry Henry - Monaco

Plus, we can't forget the fact that Ryan Giggs is Wales manager and Michael Carrick is learning his trade by working under Jose Mourinho as his right-hand man at Manchester United.
All sorts of Football Manager esque madness going on and long may it continue...
