They were one of the biggest sporting triumphs of 2016, but, sadly for gaming fans, you won't be able to play as the Icelandic national side in FIFA 17 - because EA Sports apparently didn't offer enough money.
Having qualified for their first-ever major tournament, little was expected of Iceland at this summer's Euros in France, but the tiny island managed to make it all the way to the quarter-finals before losing to the hosts, and managed an historic win over England on route.

Moreover, their fans' iconic clap celebration was one of the tournament's highlights, but whilst the clapping will be featured in FIFA 17, Iceland won't, after an apparent row over the fee required to obtain the image rights.

Apparently, EA Sports were very keen on having Iceland in their forthcoming console game, which is released this month and continues to be the world's most popular football computer game.

But, according to Icelandic news outlet Nutiminn, the Icelandic football federation (KSI) couldn't reach an agreement on a fee with EA Sports, and rejected the offer.
Shame, really.
