EA Sports have announced the addition of a Career Mode bonus perk for those who purchase the special editions of FIFA 21.

The first official trailer for FIFA 21 dropped as part of 'EA Play' last night, as well as a release date and information on how the game will transfer to next-gen consoles.

Moreover, EA confirmed that there will once again be three different versions of the game to buy, ranging from 'Standard' to 'Ultimate' - and the most expensive and complete now come with a special Career Mode item.

Fans have been clamouring for radical changes to the game mode after EA prioritised Ultimate Team for the last few years and this could be the start as those who pre-order the 'Champions' or 'Ultimate' editions before August 14 will l receive a 'Career Mode homegrown talent'.

In a nutshell, players will automatically have a local youngster with world-class potential in their ranks when the pick their first team to manage in FIFA 21 Career Mode.

Details such as the player's nationality will be linked to the league in which the team plays in and this benefit is applicable to each new save - as well as being carried over to PS5 and Xbox Series X when they are released.

It doesn't sound all that different to the 'Scout a Future Star' feature that has been available in Career Mode through the EA catalogue but here's hoping this is a sign of some serious improvements to a beloved part of the franchise.

FIFA 21 is to be released worldwide on October 9. Further information on the game will be revealed in August, which is likely to be the period during which we find out who the game's cover star will be.

Manchester City's Kevin De Bruyne has already emerged as a leading contender to be front and centre on the upcoming game.
