Well played Hammers

West Ham United have been forced to take serious action in their January Goal of the Month competition following Andy Carroll's wonder goal, and, personally, we think they've absolutely nailed it.

Of course, with social media, most football clubs these days hold a competition asking supporters to vote for their favourite goal of the calendar month, but given the spectacular nature of Carroll's over-head kick against Crystal Palace on January 14, a competition didn't seem so necessary this month.

So, what to do?

Well, the guys over at West Ham's social media team, who were already having a pretty decent day, have come up with the perfect compromise to keep Carroll and his all of his goal-scoring team-mates happy too:

When you consider that Carroll's strike might actually be one of the Premier League's all-time greats, it's probably fair enough that it gets its own little video on Twitter.

Really, it's the least the club could've done.

We hear Andy Carroll is still celebrating the strike.

Well played, lads. Well played.
