Someone has created a saves compilation for David De Gea, and it only lasts for three seconds.

The 2010 World Cup winners were tipped by many to go all the way. But, days prior to kicking-off their Russian adventure, crisis hit the Spanish camp.

Coach Julen Lopetegui was ruthlessly sacked for agreeing a pre-contract with Real Madrid. As a result, the Spanish football federation drafted in Fernando Hierro on very, very short notice.

Spain, however, secured a spot in the next round by topping Group B.

Though Spain looked uninspiring and unconvincing with star players failing to hit their peak including De Gea who endured a miserable campaign.

The Manchester United stopper conceded three goals in Spain's opening World Cup game, not to mention committing a huge howler to allow Cristiano Ronaldo a goal.

His misery continued through Sunday when Russia knocked out Spain.

His World Cup reads; four games, seven shots faced, six goals conceded and just ONE save.

And a Twitter user (@CentralWinger_) has produced his saves compilation and it's pretty brutal yet hilarious.

Brilliant.

Reports even suggested that De Gea was going to be dropped from the starting XI.

Despite having one cap to his name, Athletic Bilbao's Kepa Arrizabalaga was muted to replace De Gea in goal. Though Hierro stuck with De Gea.

Meanwhile, the 27-year-old will return to his club ahead of the new season. But he remains heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid.
