Football fans around Europe are still reacting to Cristiano Ronaldo's missed penalty against Austria, last night but no one perhaps had a better reaction than David Alaba.
The Bayern Munich man wasn't on the pitch when Ronaldo was felled in the box in the dying minutes of the match, having been substituted with 25 minutes of the game remaining.
Austria had rode their luck throughout the night, with the Portuguese (mainly Ronaldo) peppering Robert Almer's goal, only for the goalkeeper to repel them at every opportunity. Then, just as it looked as though Alaba's teammates had secured their first point of the tournament, Ronaldo was rugby tackled in the box by Martin Hinteregger.
Upon seeing Ronaldo brush himself off and place the ball on the spot, Alaba revealed that his reaction was rather foul mouthed.
"Fuck. I just said fuck."
The Bayern left-back may be saying much worse than that if Austria fail to beat Iceland in their final group game, as failing to secure a victory would almost certainly see many people's dark horse tip crash out of Euro 2016 at the first stage.
