Will Ferrell has put out a special call-to-arms for former Manchester United striker Javier Hernandez to join his MLS club LAFC.

As we've told you previously, Ferrell is just one of many celebrities who have invested in the new MLS franchise, which is set to debut in the 2018/19 season, with the likes of Mia Hamm and Magic Johnson also backing the club financially.

And now it seems the Anchorman star is going out of his way to try and attract new talent well in advance of the club's launch, with Hernandez the target of his message.

Appearing on ESPN, he made an impassioned plea for the current Bayer Leverkusen forward to ditch his career in Europe and try his luck in North America:

We've told you previously about how Manchester United have been linked with a move to re-sign Hernandez - but by 2018 he'd be in his thirties - could the MLS be a serious option for him?

Back in April, "Chicharito" snubbed Premier League defenders when it comes to talking about his toughest opponents.

Despite lining up against John Terry, Vincent Kompany and Laurent Koscielny during that time, the Mexico international thinks the toughest centre-backs he's faced have played abroad.

In a social media Q&A this afternoon, the Mexico international picked out Thiago Silva, Giorgio Chiellini and Carles Puyol as the defenders he made the most difficulty against.

Interestingly, as well as no English-based players making Hernandez's list, the forward also left out the likes of Mats Hummels, Jerome Boateng, who he will have battled with in his time playing in Germany.

You can't argue too much though, as after all, he is the one who has played against the defenders so he's probably in a decent position to decide his toughest opponents.

Are there any players past or present who are worthy of a mention that he's left out?
