Both players are currently in the Belgium squad for their World Cup warm-up friendly against Saudi Arabia on Tuesday night, but today's team meeting was clearly a boring one.
That prompted Lukaku to take to Instagram, and quickly reference to the Hoops' bitter rivals.
We're not entirely sure if Lukaku is hinting at Boyata's recent horror show against Rangers, which almost gifted the Gers a win at Ibrox earlier this month, or if he thinks simply bringing up Rangers will annoy Boyata.
With players like Lukaku, Kevin de Bruyne and Eden Hazard in their squad, we had been thinking Belgium must be considered one of the favourites to win the World Cup this summer.
Celtic fans pound Boyata every week for being shite and now they're pounding him for not signing a new contract. I'm confused.- Hoidy (@Hoidy) March 23, 2018
Why did we buy Compper if he's going to sit on the bench in the wake of a historically bad Dedryck Boyata performance at Ibrox?- A Grand Auld Team (@FritzAGrandAuld) March 18, 2018

But having realised they have Boyata in their ranks, we'll need to have a serious rethink.
