Jamie Carragher popped open a bottle of bubbly on live TV and admitted he was going to "get absolutely rotten tonight" after Liverpool won the Premier League title.

The Reds ended their 30-year league title drought on Thursday night after Chelsea beat 10-man Manchester City 2-1 at Stamford Bridge.

And Liverpool legend Carragher couldn't hold back his excitement as he spoke to Reds skipper Jordan Henderson during an interview on Sky Sports.

The Sky Sports pundit told Henderson: "Jordan, you're a great professional, but tell me you're going to get absolutely rotten tonight like me!"

A teary-eyed Henderson laughed at him before Carragher shook his bottle of champagne and cracked open the bubbly as he wildly celebrated.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Henderson admitted that he was "overwhelmed" by Liverpool's title victory and said it was an "amazing feeling."

When asked how he felt with Liverpool becoming Premier League champions, the 30-year-old responded: "Amazing. Yeah, I didn't want to talk about it until this moment, so it's amazing to finally get over the line and I'm so happy for all the boys, the fans, the whole club, the city.

"Yeah, I'm just a little bit overwhelmed right now. It's an amazing feeling and yeah, I'm just so proud of what we achieved."

Footage emerged of Liverpool players wildly celebrating after Willian slammed home Chelsea's second and sealed the title for the Reds.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp also predicted that Liverpool would win the Premier League title after he was appointed manager in 2015.

"Last night we signed the contract and this morning I wake and I'm manager of Liverpool FC," he said at the time.

"Please give us time to do the work but when I sit here in four years I think we may have one title.

"If not maybe [I'll win] the next one in Switzerland!"
