Nemanja Matic Reveals What Was Really On The Note Handed To Him

Brilliant banter...

In the second half of Manchester United's 2-1 win over Chelsea on Sunday afternoon, substitute Eric Bailly came on in the 80th minute armed with a note.

Bailly proceeded to pass this mysterious note to midfielder Nemanja Matic and a cheeky Willian decided try his luck and take a sneak peek at the message, Matic having to jog away from the mischievous eyes of Willian.

Fans watching the game were curious as to what the instructions passed on to the Serbian were exactly.

Well, the former Benfica man has answered our players by revealing the note he was given. Sort of.

Hilariously, Matic took to Instagram today to share a picture of him with a piece of paper in his hand, as well as a close-up of a note that he had quite clearly written himself.

Written in the same way you would write a fake note using your Mum's handwriting to try and get out of PE if you didn't fancy it, it read: "You have three days off", accompanied by a smiley face.

Very good banter from Matic, whose social media antics come after the internet produced utter gold in trying to work out what the piece of paper said.

Here are some of the very best efforts:
