Anthony Martial Sent Ashley Young A Hilarious Message After His 'Goal' Against Brighton

Ashley Young celebrated Manchester United's victory against Brighton by taking to social media with Anthony Martial sending him a message after his 'goal'.

United momentarily close the gap on Manchester City by picking up three points against Brighton at Old Trafford on Saturday.

Though the game left little to be desired. United meandered to the win. The only goal of the game courtesy of an OG from Lewis Dunk.

After Romelu Lukaku won a corner kick, United opened the scoring from the resulting set-piece.

Marcus Rashford swung in a corner-kick, with ball eventually coming to young outside of the box. He worked an opening, before striking at goal.

His effort went in aided by a deflection. Following the game, Young posted a message on Twitter hilariously claiming the goal.

"That was a tough one today, big 3 points in the end! Come on premierleague....my shot was going on target, I've waited long enough for a goal"

Teammate Martial then shared a message himself, brilliantly congratulating the England international: "Great goal bro the shot was perfect."

"Antoooo you know," Young replied.

Young, 32, is enjoying a rich vain of form of late, which also included earning a call-up to Gareth Southgate's England squad for the international friendlies against Germany and Brazil.

Meanwhile, United resume their league campaign on Tuesday night as they travel to Watford, taking on Marco Silva's in-form charges at Vicarage Road.
