Manchester City's Oleksandr Zinchenko has revealed he regularly gets mistaken for Kevin De Bruyne by fans.

The Ukrainian, signed for less than ยฃ2 million from Russian outfit FC Ufa in 2016, he was transformed into a left-back by Pep Guardiola following Benjamin Mendy's ACL injury earlier this season.

He had previously played as a number ten but has slotted in on the left side of City's backline and done so with distinction in his nine outings this season, eight of which have been starts.

With Fabian Delph suspended for the Carabao Cup final showdown with Arsenal tomorrow, Zinchenko looks set to get the nod at Wembley.

And in an interview with The Telegraph, the 21-year old explained that because he bears a resemblance to City's talisman De Bruyne, the fair hair being the key feature, some City fans confuse him for the Belgian maestro.

"I've heard it all the time, trust me,""Zinchenko told Sam Wallace, Chief football writer at The Telegraph.

"Everyone calls me 'Kev'. When I'm getting the bus, the fans are shouting 'Kev, can I have a picture?' Then I turn and they're like 'Oh, it's not Kevin'.

"From afar maybe we look like twins, but when we are together, I don't think so. I am more beautiful than him, definitely."

Earlier this month, after collecting the club's Player of the Month award, De Bruyne was asked whether or not he thought he and Zinchenko looked similar and his response was hilarious.

"He's definitely not my twin brother," he responded to a fan question.

"I always say to him I am already married so I'm ok."

But the Genk youth product did then refer to him as his "ugly brother" when the two were walking onto the training pitch last week, with the funny exchange captured here:

Would Andre Marriner have trouble telling these two apart?
