Alan Shearer isn't a man who takes fools lightly. He made fools out of centre halves and goalkeepers for a living and it's precisely that reason why he's known as the Premier League's greatest goalscorer. So when it comes to Twitter trolls, it should come as no surprise that the former Newcastle United and Blackburn Rovers number nine is equally as ruthless as he was in front of goal.
During Manchester City's tense 0-0 draw with Real Madrid in tonight's Champions League semi-final first leg, Shearer tweeted his disappointment at the level of entertainment in the first half, where both sides produced 45 minutes of incredibly tentative football.
Like most of us, the former England international was expecting a thrilling, end-to-game but was met with a rather drab opening period. His light hearted jab wasn't taken too kindly by one disgruntled follower, however:
And Shearer wasn't going to let Mr. Eaves get away with such a response, responding in emphatic fashion:
