Nineties cult 'hero' and former Liverpool defender Phil Babb has been sharing a story that will prove to be incredibly popular among the Anfield faithful, about the time he knocked Cristiano Ronaldo out.

Appearing on Sky Sports' 'Fantasy Football' programme, Babb shared a tale about how, during a brief stint as Ronaldo's teammate at Sporting CP, he knocked out the future three time Ballon d'Or winner.

The prodigious Madeiran winger had embarrassed Babb with a trademark pair of stepovers during a training session, which the Republic of Ireland international took exception to, laying Ronaldo out with a swift forearm to the face, before telling a prone Ronaldo "never again".

We think it's safe to say the incident with Babb did absolutely nothing to dissuade Ronaldo from wanting to ridicule helpless defenders on a regular basis.
