You might not be surprised to learn that Real Madrid and Spain defender Sergio Ramos has picked up more cards than any other player in the history of La Liga, UEFA Champions League and the national team.

The 32-year-old has received an incredible 24 red cards in his 16 year career as a player.

If you break that down, he has 19 in La Liga, three in the Champions League and two in the Copa del Rey but in the year 2018, the defender has gone the full year without a single red.

It really is a Christmas miracle!

173 cards in La Liga later, Sergio Ramos may be one of the biggest offenders when it comes to fouling but he is still regarded as one of the best, if not thee best defender, in world football.

The fact that he holds the record with 173 cards. 19 of those are red cards, in La Liga is quite remarkable.

Never change, Sergio.
