Former Arsenal midfielder Serge Gnabry has officially joined Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich on a three-year deal after a superb season at Werder Bremen left him with plenty of admirers.

Bremen confirmed this week that midfielder Gnabry has opted to part ways with the Bundesliga club after just one season, saying: "After a very good first year for him at Werder, Serge has informed us that he would like to take the next step in his career."

The 21-year-old made 27 league appearances for Bremen last season, scoring 11 goals from midfield.

Bayern announced the deal on Twitter this morning, with many praising his capture as one of the signings of the summer thus far.

Just hours after the announcement was made, however, the joy turned sour after a Twitter user scrolled through Gnabry's old tweets to find this.

A tweet from 2012 shows the former Arsenal midfielder cheering on Bayern Munich's biggest rivals Borussia Dortmund.

Three years on, the talented 21-year-old midfielder revealed his delight after the news was announced.

But his first day at the Bundesliga champions might be a little tricky. We await the infamous changing room initiation song.

It could get messy.

It is being reported that Bayern has managed to sign Gnabry for an unconfirmed fee believed to be in the region of €8 million.

Now that is a bargain, but let's not forget, he simply wasn't good enough to sign for West Brom.

How do Arsenal fans feel about his latest move? Should Wenger have kept the young midfielder?

Let us know your thoughts.
