The whole England team were bursting with euphoria when Jordan Pickford came up with a crucial save to deny Carlos Bacca in the penalty shout. Except Eric Dier.
A wonderful image of the Three Lions celebrating being on the verge of winning their first ever World Cup penalty shoot-out has been doing the rounds on social media.
The passion on the faces of the likes of John Stones, Jordan Henderson, Danny Rose and Marcus Rashford but Dier's facial expression was very different.

Because of course, this was a man who was fully aware that the weight of a nation rested on his shoulders, as he was pencilled in for the fifth and decisive spot-kick. It was all focus and concentration for the Tottenham man.
The former Sporting CP man was up to the task though, doing the business from 12 yards and setting up a quarter final showdown with Sweden on Saturday.

Reflecting on his spot-kick, Pickford's heroics and the game on the whole, Dier told ITV:
"It was a nervous one. I've never really been in a situation like that before but felt I had to score after missing the header at the end so I'm just thankful I scored!
"Jordan (Pickford) is a fantastic goalkeeper and deserves everything. His attitude is brilliant and he's been brilliant in training and taken it into the game.
"To get knocked down like we did is difficult to come back from it. We knew what we had to do and we stayed calm. We never panicked. We were ready for that."
