Dani Alves has spoken candidly about his experience of playing under Pep Guardiola at Barcelona.

There is a reason for the word 'candid,' mainly for how the Paris Saint-Germain right-back said that it was "better than sex."

So, how does the former Barcelona boss feel about the analogy?

Well, a reporter asked the Manchester City manager how he felt about his comment. Of course, Guardiola had the perfect response to it.

"I prefer the sex," he chuckled.

Brilliant. Just brilliant!

The 35-year-old Brazilian spoke to Sky Sports about why he didn't reunite with the 47-year-old Spaniard at City, especially after he left Juventus in 2017.

"It was all done to go to Manchester City, but it didn't happen because of a family decision," he said. "Pep knew my intentions. I spoke with him, he knew my intention to work with him and his staff again.

"He knows the gigantic respect I have for them, which is why I wanted to work with him again until something else came up.

"In life, you have to weigh everything up, even when they are just decisions about your career.

"I like my decisions to be taken carefully, so they don't harm anyone close to me, so that the people close to me are happy.

"I know that if the people close to me are happy, I am happy, and I can do my job better. For me, it was a shame not to work with Guardiola again because he knows I adore him, but at the same time, it was a new challenge which is what changed my mind."

Alves first arrived at Barcelona in 2008 after completing a move from Sevilla. During his first season at the Camp Nou with Guardiola, Barça completed a treble by winning the Copa del Rey, La Liga and Champions League.

Will Guardiola be able to win the Champions League with City?
