Rangnick marks his first game in charge of Man United with a win having implemented his pressing style.
The Red Devils set up in a 4-2-2-2 formation, with the 63-year-old telling his players, including Cristiano Ronaldo, to press.
They move above Arsenal to sixth place in the league, with 24 points on the board.
Man United return to action next Wednesday in the Champions League before resuming their Premier League campaign at Norwich next Saturday.
