Ex-Chelsea manager Frank Lampard has reportedly been offered a return to Premier League management.

Lampard, 42, has been out of work since January when he was ruthlessly sacked by his former club.

But he's emerged as the leading contender to replace Roy Hodgson at Crystal Palace, according to The Telegraph.

Hodgson's contract at Palace is due to expire at the end of the season with the club yet to offer him a new deal.

Lampard is Palace's top choice if the Selhurst Park outfit decide to part ways with the 73-year-old.

The Blues legend is believed to be keen on resuming his managerial career in England's top flight following his stint at Stamford Bridge.

He's also been linked with the England U21 job, but the report claims Lampard is not interested in that gig.

However, it is unclear whether or not he would accept an offer from Palace or wait for other potential options.

It is understood that Palace are lining up a £50 million summer overhaul and plan to add high-profile loan signings to their squad.

With Lampard's Chelsea connections, the likes of Tammy Abraham and Billy Gilmour could potentially be available.

Lampard is not the only manager linked with the Palace hot-seat as Burnley boss Sean Dyche and Eddie Howe have also been mooted.
