After taking on his first job in management with Derby County, Frank Lampard made a big impression in his first press conference as a manager today - with their being one particular highlight.

The Chelsea and England legend has signed a three-year deal as Gary Rowett's replacement and is targeting promotion with the Midlands side after the club were beaten by eventual play-off winners Fulham in the semi-finals.

As there was with his former midfield partner Steven Gerrard at Rangers, there's already plenty of curiosity as to who Lampard might look at in terms of transfer targets.

But when Sky Sports' Rob Dorsett asked about the caliber of player Chelsea's all-time top scorer would be exploring after he was at the League Two play-off final, 'Lamps' conjured up a hilarious response.

Not a bad way to make yourself popular with the Rams' fanbase on your first day!

Because of Financial Fair Play restrictions, Derby are unable to pay big bucks for players this summer but Lampard knew that as soon as they entered negotiations, he says.

We were open, which is the important part," he revealed, as per Sky Sports.

"There's decisions to be made whether it's in or out, with the team and formation - those will be my decisions on the training ground and there will be open conversations off the pitch.

"I'm here to succeed and be competitive. My aim from the first day of pre-season is to be successful, and that means promotion."
