19-year old Ilenia Matilli was involved in a horrific accident whereby a car crashed into a tree while they were returning home from a night in the company of friends at 2am in the morning back in December.
Ilenia, a Roma supporter but a player with Lazio women for many years, was immediately taken in an air ambulance and transferred to Gemelli hospital in Rome.
She was placed in a coma for nine months and her parents would play her Roma's anthem as they sat by her bed. And miraculously, she woke up from unconsciousness after hearing Totti's voice saying, "llenia don't give up, you'll do it, we're all with you".
Francesco Totti's message to car crash victim, Lazio women's footballer Ilenia Matilli:
"Don't give up, you'll do it, we are all with you."

After coming back around, Ilenia's wish has been granted as Totti turned up to meet her in person at the hospital on Monday.
Wearing the relevant PPE, 'Il Capitano' spent time one hour and half and posed for pictures with the staunch Giallorossi supporter, who cannot yet speak but understands gestures.
He also signed her Roma home shirt, which of course had 'Totti 10' on the back as a nod to the club's greatest ever player and top goalscorer.
Totti has now promised to meet up with Ilenia again when he enters the next stage of her recovery.
"It [the meeting] was beautiful. It was touching for me and I hope it was more for her. I was very happy. She doesn't speak but we hugged and she started to cry [of joy]," Totti told reporters, as per ESPN.
"Had I known that it [the recording] would help, I would have sent the video earlier! We will meet again once she leaves the hospital."
Ilenia's father Stefano was incredibly grateful for Totti's actions and could not speak highly of him.
He told Corriere Della Sera: "I have to thank a friend of my daughter who had the idea of contacting Francesco Totti and having him record a message.
"Francesco accepted immediately, you can see that he is a person with a good heart, talking to him today in the hospital was like talking to a brother."
