Didier Deschamps had to literally drag one of his players off the pitch in France's shock defeat to Switzerland at Euro 2020, according to stunning reports.

France were eliminated from the tournament after losing a dramatic penalty shoot-out in Bucharest on Monday.

The post-mortem has not been kind to the defending World Champions, with reports claiming a bust-up between players' families and on-pitch flare-ups.

It is now claimed that Deschamps had his hands full in extra-time, as L'Equipe say Kingsley Coman refused to come off in the first-half of extra-time.

The 25-year-old, who entered the fray as a second-half substitute, wanted to carry on to change his public image of being an injury prone player and felt like he had something to prove.

Coman's initial reluctance saw him have an argument with Deschamps, who ultimately had his way - saying: "But you are not going to be playing Kingsley."

The France boss eventually subbed off the Bayern Munich winger for Marcus Thuram in the 111th minute.

Thurman subsequently converted his spot-kick in the shoot-out, before Kylian Mbappe fluffed his lines from 12-yards to hand Switzerland a famous victory.

Another report also suggests there was an implosion within the France team during the last-16 loss.

It has been said that Adrien Rabiot and Paul Pogba insulted each other, with the Juventus midfielder unhappy with the Manchester United man's defensive efforts.

Raphael Varane took aim at Benjamin Pavard for his defending.

The Bayern defender blamed Pogba for his lack of defending, with Varane backing Pavard up.
