Incredible highlights of Lionel Messi's playmaking masterclass vs Granada have emerged and it could be his best performance of the season.

The Barcelona superstar inspired his side to a 5-3 win in their Copa del Rey quarter-final last night despite not getting a goal.

Messi was named Man of the Match following the game and it was easy to see why. He was instrumental in all five goals and registered 160 touches across 120 minutes of action.

On top of that were 10 key passes and nine shots on target as the Catalan giants searched for victory.

Statistics page SofaScore even gave the 33-year-old a perfect 10/10 rating for causing the home side's defence nightmares all game.

His sole assist came in the 88th minute after a looping ball found Antoine Griezmann, who scored to make it 2-1.

Fans have reacted to Messi's display and they think he's finally hitting the levels everyone knows he's capable of after a tough week.

One fan said: "1 assist but a 15/10 performance. Despite having the goals and assists to his name, never use them to justify Leo's greatness."

A second added: The only player in the world who can have a 10/10 performance without scoring, greatest player in history."

A third stated: "10 key passes madness. He is the most complete player ever."

While another simply put: "Poetry, he generates football."

Granada found themselves 2-0 up in the game but Barcelona came roaring back thanks to Griezmann and Jordi Alba late on.

Griezmann netted his second of the game in extra-time before Fede Vico made it 3-3 from the penalty spot.

Frenkie de Jong restored Barca's lead before Alba thumped home a volley to make it 5-3.

Manager Ronald Koeman spoke to AS following the game and he was delighted with his side's comeback.

"It helps to have spirit and strength in the team," he begun. "That's the way. We've worked a lot to get to the moment when the team starts to believe and it's a proud feeling. And it's come at an important moment of the season.

"We started the game really strongly, we played really well in the first 20 minutes. A mistake in playing where we shouldn't be playing cost us a goal.

"You have to highlight the team's mentality because we never gave up. We had really bad luck with the woodwork. We did everything to win the game.

"We deserved it due to the mentality of the team, but on this occasion, we showed we know how to suffer. We knew how to defend the result and we deserved the win."
