Lionel Messi once again produced a masterclass display for Barcelona after they beat Tottenham Hotspur 4-2 in the Champions League.
Spurs did not make it easy for Barça, sure, but they had to eventually succumb to the influence that the Argentine magician had in the match.
Even though it ended in defeat for the London side, not everyone walked away from the match empty-handed.

Érik Lamela revealed how he received a spicy present after the match from the five-time Ballon d'Or winner: his shirt!
According to 101 Great Goals, the Spurs midfielder told reporters how he needed the shirt for his dad.
Apparently, Lamela claims that his dad would have "killed him" if he hadn't asked for it.

It speaks volumes about the praise that Messi received following the match, including fellow Argentine Lamela calling him the GOAT.
In fact, it's not surprising when the stats for Barcelona's talisman showed how much he dominated against Spurs players.
Barcelona have won both of their opening matches in the Champions League.
Messi has now scored 40+ goals for club and country for the TENTH consecutive year

Jordi Alba on The Best Awards: "For me, The Best is a lie. Modric is a great player, one of the best. But Messi is like at a separate table, he plays at another level. He is the best in the world. When Leo runs, the rest of us only have to grit our teeth. He is the best." pic.twitter.com/MM2iTM2Hni
