Ivan Perisic could miss the World Cup final through injury. The winger scored the equaliser in Croatia's match against England, and his side ran out eventual winners when Mario Mandžukić scored in extra-time and gave Croatia a ticket to the World Cup final, leaving England's dream crushed, the Three Lions sent packing from the tournament.

The Croatians will face France on 15th July and will be looking for their first ever World Cup victory. France have been in two finals in the last twenty years, one of which they won.

Now the Daily Mail are reporting that the veteran attacker Perisic could miss the biggest game of his life after suffering a thigh injury. He is currently in a hospital in Moscow, just 24 hours after helping his nation earn their best ever World Cup place - the final.

Perisic was on Manchester United's radar last month, and it's the same thing again seems to occurring this time around, with manager Jose Mourinho very keen on the player, according to reports.

Head coach Zlatko Dalic said about the player's fitness for upcoming final: "The guys celebrated reaching the final and today we are having a day of recovery. I'm not ready yet to talk about the condition of the players.

"Before the match against England we had enough problems, but nobody complained. No one, no matter how hard it got, wanted to leave the pitch. I'm proud to coach these players."

Fingers cross for Perisic.
