Footage Shows How Luke Shaw Ignored Shout From David De Gea For Spurs' Fourth Goal
New footage shows Luke Shaw failing to listen to David De Gea in the 6-1 hammering at the hands of Tottenham Hotspur.
United's defending in their heaviest defeat since 2011 was utterly calamitous and the fourth goal in particular summed up just how disorganised their backline was.
Heung-Min Son nipped in to score his second of the game in the 37th minute but his task was made so much easier thanks to Shaw switching off.
A new clip with audio has been doing the rounds on social media and De Gea can be heard screaming "No, Luke! No, Luke! No, Luke! No!," at the left-back.
Clearly, the Spaniard was telling Shaw not to leave the space at the front post. But he didn't listen and once he'd committed to focusing on Harry Kane on the edge of the area, Son had ran in unchallenged to find the net.

You can see in another screenshot, however, that Shaw was being instructed to close down Kane by captain Harry Maguire as Paul Pogba jogged back in.
The goal was so avoidable but United were absolutely all over the place and really was Sunday League stuff. The same can be said for the Spurs' first goal, where Maguire decided to grab Shaw just when he was about to clear the ball and allowed Tanguy Ndombele to level matters.
The Dog And Duck pub team would probably have a field day against United if they defended like that...
