Aston Villa have had a dismal season. After battling against relegation in the last few seasons, their 2015/2016 outing put fans, and everyone associated with the club, worst fears into reality, relegation.

Though, there is finally some good news heading to Villa Park. As their takeover is set to be completed within the coming days as a Chinese group close in on a £75 million deal.

The Hong Kong based group also want to draft in a familiar face back to English football. The Chinese consortium want former Tottenham and Liverpool director of football Damien Commoli in charge of the Midlands club.

The Rui Kang Group are reportedly close to completing a big money deal with owner Randy Lerner. They've also laid their plans out as they want Cammoli to lead the football operations as technical director replacing Paddy Riley.

Commoli comes with a reputation. He was heavily criticised about over spending during his spell in England despite bringing in Luis Suarez and Gareth Bale, respectively.

The club are also on a lookout for a new manger for their impending Championship season, with the likes of Nigel Pearson, Simon Grayson and Roberto Di Matteo all linked with the vacancy.
