BREAKING: Fernando Torres Stretchered Off After Suffering Horrific Head Injury

In a horrific looking incident, Fernando Torres has been stretchered off the pitch at the Riazor stadium during Atletico Madrid's La Liga match with Deportivo La Coruna with a serious looking head injury.

The former Liverpool man hit the pitch as if he was already unconscious after a collision with a Deportivo defender.

Warning, the below footage is difficult to watch.

Atleti players were left praying on the pitch as the Spanish international received treatment before eventually being stretchered from the field.

Quick thinking players grabbed Torres' tongue to prevent him from choking.

According to Radio Marca, Torres is now conscious and talking.
