FC Basel Fans Take Stand Against Expensive Ticket Prices For Swiss Cup Final

Prices for the final start at £38 per ticket...

FC Basel supporters have offered a take it or leave it ultimatum to the Swiss FA after being left frustrated regarding ticket prices for their upcoming cup final.

Basel play against FC Thun at Stade de Suisse on 19 May but as it stands the club have not bought any tickets for the showpiece in Bern.

The reason being, fans are taking a stance over the fact that the cheapest ticket is £38 and they believe they are being priced out of watching their team play in a cup final.

Instead, they are selling half-price tickets at £19 and plan to walk to the stadium before offering the Swiss FA the funds they have raised.

We've never come across anything of the sort but you have to respect the Basel fans' decision.

Ticket prices these days are utterly ridiculous and you only have to look at FA Cup final tickets peaking at £145 for the game between Watford and Manchester City at Wembley as a recent example on our shoes.

Similarly, Barcelona have been getting a lot of stick for overcharging English fans when they come to the Nou Camp.

The Blaugrana are charging Liverpool supporters a ridiculous €119 for a ticket in the Camp Nou away end for the semi-final first leg.

In response to that extortionate pricing structure, Liverpool decided to price their tickets at €119 for the second leg a week, using the extra €31 per ticket to subsidise tickets for their 4,600 travelling fans heading to BARCA.
