Fantasy Premier League User's Bench Accrued 49 Points In Opening Weekend

An absolute nightmare...

The Premier League is back and so too are Fantasy Football mishaps - with one user having an absolute nightmare for the first round of fixtures.

The person's picks were actually very impressive, it was just a crying shame that they were all on his bench and he lost out on all the points as a consequence.

Ederson, Richarlison, Aaron Wan Bissaka and Benjamin Mendy would have brought a whopping 49 points after their strong starts to the campaign.

City's No.1 goalkeeper Ederson was largely untroubled in his side's 2-0 win at the Emirates yesterday and his clean sheet brought eight points.

His compatriot Richarlison made a dream start at Everton after his big money move to the Toffees, scoring twice against Wolves in Saturday's 5:30 kick-off and scoring 14 points after bonuses.

Wan Bissaka, already looking to be a popular choice amongst Fantasy Football fans, got 12 points following his assist and impressive display against Fulham, while Mendy chipped in with two assists against Arsenal and was worthy of 15 points.

But with no bench boost activated, the unlucky user didn't see any of the points added to his weekly total. And to make matters worse, he had Phil bloody Jagielka, sent off against Wolves, in his starting XI and lost three points.

A quick search on Twitter and you see that plenty of other people lost out on points from their bench but the heartbreak has well and truly began for this chap, who must be tearing his hair out frustration.

In other FPL opening weekend news, one absolute nutter decided to triple captain Luke Shaw and his decision could not have worked out better after he scored his first senior goal against Leicester City on Friday and accrued a massive 33 points.

A late Jamie Vardy goal robbed United and Shaw of a clean sheet so it could have been in hindsight, but we might already have seen the most bizarre triple-captaining of the season.

How did your FPL team get on?
