Manchester City's third kit made its season debut this evening as the Premier League champions made the long journey down to Brighton's Amex Stadium.
The 'crestless' Puma strip certainly didn't go down well with most fans on social media, with many deriding its cheap look and basic design.
The kit is all black, with a centred Puma logo on the shirt, 'Man City' written below in blue, and the club sponsor below that still.

If you look closely, you'll also be able to see the pattern of City badges that blend into the black background. This is crucial for passing Premier League rules, as while it isn't clearly visible, all kits need to have a badge of some kind on the shirt.
The design is one that has been repackaged for several other clubs with Puma kits, including Borussia Dortmund and PSV. However, unlikely City's, the BVB shirt does still prominently feature the club badge slightly off centre.
While some were keen on the simplistic layout, the general consensus was one of disapproval on Twitter.

The kit may not have been some fans' cup of tea, but it did at least bring the team success. The travelling side raced into a 3-0 first-half lead, with Phil Foden grabbing an exceptional double.
Given the lack of popularity, it's unlikely that we'll see too many kits like this again in the near future.
