Chelsea fans absolutely loved Thiago Silva's antics in the stands as Thomas Tuchel's side progressed to the Champions League quarter finals.

The Blues ran out 3-0 winners on aggregate over Atletico Madrid, with Hakim Ziyech and Emerson Palmieri adding to Olivier Giroud's stunner in the first leg.

Club captain Silva watched from the stands at Stamford Bridge as he continues his recovery from injury but he was animated as ever.

The Brazilian was kicking every single ball, as well as shouting and organising Chelsea's players on the pitch while he was stood up on the steps.

A leader in every sense of the word even when he's not playing, it's easy to forget that the 36-year-old only joined the West London outfit.

When Emerson wrapped up the win in stoppage time, cameras picked up the former PSG man sharing a wonderful embrace with teammates Mason Mount and Jorginho, who were both suspended for the second leg.

La Liga leaders Atletico were especially poor over both legs and made it easy for the 2012 winners.

Aggrieved with the decision to not award a penalty and red card for Cesar Azpilicueta's challenge on Yannick Carrasco inside the area early on, Atleti finished the tie with 10-men after Stefan Savic elbowed Antonio Rudiger in the stomach.

Star striker Luis Suarez was subbed off after 59 minutes and has now gone 25 Champions League away appearances without finding the net.
