Manchester United recovered from 2-0 down to a claim a much-needed 3-2 Champions League victory over Atalanta at Old Trafford, and fans have spotted David De Gea's superstition every time the Red Devils score.

United's Champions League prospects were hanging by a thread when Mario Pasalic and Merih Demiral put the Italians into a shock 2-0 lead at half-time, before goals from Marcus Rashford, Harry Maguire and Cristiano Ronaldo rescued all three points.

One man who was clearly delighted with the victory was De Gea, who finished celebrating each goal by touching his own crossbar.

The celebrations were increasingly more jubilant, as the Spaniard merely ran back to his goal and touched the bar following Rashford's strike. He was less reserved for Maguire's equaliser, as he raced back towards the East Stand with his arms outstretched, before jumping in the air to celebrate Ronaldo's dramatic winner.

The video has been liked almost 17,000 times on Twitter at the time of writing, and fans are loving De Gea's reactions to each United goal.

It was brilliant footage on what was a very big night for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side. The Red Devils would have been bottom of their Champions League group with a defeat to the Italians, but this comeback left them two points clear at the top.

This result followed on from what was another thrilling 2-1 victory over Villarreal, which came after a frustrating 2-1 defeat away at BSC Young Boys.

De Gea more than played his part in this latest victory, after making two superb saves to deny Luis Muriel and Ruslan Malinovskyi from adding to Atalanta's tally on the night.

Solskjaer will hope the win gives his squad a morale boost ahead of a daunting match with arch rivals Liverpool at Old Trafford on Sunday. United end October with a trip to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium for a game against a resurgent Spurs side on 30th October.
