Gareth Southgate showered Jordan Henderson with praise after he captained England to a 1-0 win over Netherlands in Amsterdam, but three Lions fans weren't in agreement with what he said.

Jesse Lingard scored the solitary goal over the game in a pretty decent display from England, who looked comfortable playing with three at the back.

"He worked the game out very well [against Netherlands], spotted the tactical changes the Dutch made in switching their system three times, speaking to others and telling them where to press," Southgate said when assessing Henderson's role in the victory.

"Obviously he's one of the few guys who captains his club. Or has captained his club. He's comfortable in that role and speaks up for the group. He has a mindset for the collective, not the self - a hugely important attribute for a captain to have."

Henderson is arguably the leading contender to captain England in the World Cup but as seen in some of the reaction on social media, the majority of fans really don't rate him:

Does Henderson deserve the stick he is receiving?
