The 2018 World Cup sticker book went on sale earlier this month and football fans across the globe have been filled with excitement - even if paying 80p for a pack is a bit of a rip-off.

There is a huge interest in sticker collecting but it seems some people cannot quite understand how adults still spend their hard-earned money on the Panini items.

That was the issue that Jon Mackenzie, a journalist and podcaster, faced when he nipped to the shop to buy some stickers for his office.

In an incredible thread on Twitter, he explains the priceless story of how he ended up completely making up a story that he had two kids. It's pure gold:

Brilliant. Clearly not your average trip to the shop!

In other sticker-related news, leading mathematician Professor Paul Harper, via the Mirror, reckons it would cost over £700 to complete the whole book.

Basing it on probability, Harper believes it would take 4,832 stickers, 967 packets or £773.60 to get all the stickers. It's not a cheap hobby but for some they just can't get enough!
