Roy Keane isn't the type of guy to beat around the bush. The 46-year-old doesn't shy away from expressing his often controversial opinions and more often than not no questions are asked. Unless you're brave and/or foolish.

In years gone by the former Manchester United midfielder has produced some infamous punditry moments.

But perhaps his most outrageous to date happened following Arsenal suffered a woeful defeat to Swedish side Östersunds, last night.

Arsene Wenger's side were slated for their performance in the Europa League round of 32 tie and Keane was handing out criticism left, right and centre.

In his own words, Keane identified how slow Arsenal started in the game:

"Where do I start... I think Arsenal are a great example on how not to start a game of football. We can talk about being a shambles but they're so slow out of the blocks - poor attitude." Keane told ITV Sport.

"The manager summed it up. No energy, no desire, you're looking for your senior players to lead by example.

He then launched a scathing attack on England international Jack Wilshere, labelling him the 'most overrated player on the planet':

"I always think, when Wilshere's your captain, to me, probably the most overrated player on the planet." Keane continued.

"And they got lucky with the result at the end of it. But if you start a game slowly, no matter how good you are, it's hard to get going. You can't just switch it on and off."

Arsene Wenger has now responded to Keane's brutal assessment of Wilshere, admitting that he didn't perform well against the Swedish minnows:

"It's very difficult. I personally rate Jack very highly. After that you can have opinions." Wenger said in Friday's press conference.

"Jack was in the team last night and didn't perform well. Was it one of his best performances? Certainly not. But Roy Keane knows that can happy to everybody."

Thoughts on Keane's comments? Is he right to slate Wilshere?
